Women’s Issues

When Expectations and Roles Collide

Therapy for Women Therapy for Women Therapy for Women

Women often carry more than they’re given space to acknowledge. Relationships, family expectations, roles, responsibilities, and unspoken emotional labor can quietly shape how you experience yourself and the world. Over time, this can lead to anxiety, depression, burnout, resentment, or a sense of losing touch with who you are. In therapy focused on women’s issues, we turn attention inward and look beneath the surface, not to “fix” you, but to understand how your experiences, relationships, and history have shaped the patterns you’re living with today.

Reasons You May Be Here

Women often seek therapy when they’re experiencing:

E

Feeling overwhelmed, depleted, or emotionally exhausted

E

Difficulty setting boundaries or saying no

E

Anxiety, depression, or chronic self-criticism

E

Guilt around needs, rest, or prioritizing yourself

E

Feeling disconnected from who you are beneath your roles

These challenges are not personal shortcomings. They often develop in response to expectations, relational dynamics, and experiences that required you to adapt, caretake, or hold things together.

Onnie’s Approach

I approach women’s issues from a relational perspective, meaning we explore how early experiences, family dynamics, cultural expectations, and relationships shape how you relate to yourself and others.

Much of our work focuses on understanding how you learned to show up in the world — who you learned to be for others, what you learned to suppress, and how those patterns may no longer serve you. We look at the emotional load you’ve been carrying and begin to make space for clarity, self-compassion, and choice.

Healing happens from the inside out.
My role is to support your process as insight and understanding take shape.

You don’t have to carry this alone anymore.

What to Expect in Therapy for Women

This work is about creating space — space to reflect, to feel, and to understand yourself more fully. So many women move through life feeling like they need to manage everything quietly. Therapy offers a space to understand what’s been carried forward, feel supported, and begin loosening the patterns that keep you overwhelmed or disconnected.
